The Woking
Nuffield

The Woking Nuffield Hospital was opened in
1962, built from funds raised by the local community. Since then, demand
for our services has established us as one of the leading providers of
private healthcare in the area. As a result of this growth, the hospital
was extended and refurbished twice in mid 80s and 90s.
The facilities
Today, we are a modern well-equipped hospital with 47 private bedrooms,
two operating theatres and one of the region’s best assisted conception
units. We are proud of our comprehensive range of specialist departments
and the high standard of care that they allow us to offer. We also
recognise that standards of healthcare can always be improved. That is
why we are constantly developing our services – to ensure that you
always receive excellent care.
The care you receive
To provide you with comprehensive, professional healthcare, we have
recruited an exceptional multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors and
specialist staff. Working together with your consultant, they will
ensure that you get the most beneficial results from your treatment. In
addition, the hospital has the on-site skills and support of a resident
doctor. All our staff are trained to the very highest standards and are
committed to the caring philosophy of Nuffield Hospitals. We are proud
of our team and would like to hear your comments on your stay. When you
leave the hospital, a questionnaire will be sent to you to complete at
your leisure. By filling it in, you will be helping us to help you.
Our medical facilities
Patients attending The Woking Nuffield Hospital have access to some of
the most up-to-date medical equipment. This ensures that you, the
patient, receive first class treatment. We are proud to be able to offer
excellent medical facilities, some of which are mentioned below. Our
highly advanced diagnostic services assist your consultant in
determining the cause of a problem with the maximum of accuracy and the
minimum of delay. The hospital’s diagnostic digital imaging department
is fully equipped and offers an advanced X-ray screening machine, a
mammography facility and a sophisticated ultrasound unit and bone
densitometry unit. Complementing these resources are the hospital’s two
modern operating theatres and our endoscopy suite. The theatres are
equipped for a wide range of procedures, including key-hole and day
surgery techniques.
In addition, in 1994 we opened an
assisted conception unit in The Victoria Wing of the hospital. The unit
is equipped with the very latest technology and offers a complete
service for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Licensed by the
Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, the unit has its own
on-site embryology laboratory and also provides access to independent,
specialist counsellors. Last but not least, customer demand has led us
to establish an extensive range of outpatient services, including our in
house pathology and pharmacy units, a physiotherapy department and
sports injury clinic and cardiology. |
